Opening sequence soundtrack choice

We will be playing this soundtrack over the top of the establishing shots of London. Me and Damian discovered this song when we were looking for a soundtrack via youtube and i believe that it will be very appropriate for establishing London as it is very fast paced and will set the scene of a busy city in a matter of a few seconds.

Cos' this is a tale of Rags to Riches and how a guy like me made it in a day.

We all made a contribution to this screenplay to create it as a group.we discussed possible factors that could impose as a problem to us when creating this screenplay.This could include then when we are filming in a busy part of London people may come towards the camera and block our view of the landmarks we are trying to capture.

Shot 3-The establishing shots of London and typical London sites such as Big Ben to set the scene.The following part of the monologue will be played over the top of this shot.This part of the monologue is roughly about 5 seconds long.

Shot 7- The main character sitting on the floor with people passing by as if he is still and the rest of the world is still moving on.The following is the part of the monologue that will be payed over the top off shot 7.This part of the monologue roughly goes on for about 25 seconds

Shot 8- 18- Is the rest of the opening sequence and will be the part where the main character gets into the cab and is now rich.But you will not know its the same character from before until right at the end off the monologue when his face is revealed a second time as the rich man this time.The folllowing part of the monologue will be played over the top of this scene. This part of the monologue will last 1 minute

We have discussed were we plan to use the monologue.we have separated the monologue up into 3 different parts to show the shots and the monologue over the top.Each individual member contributed to this monologue as we all decided to input our ideas to create what we believe to be the best monologue suitable for our introduction.

Our monologue plays a big part in our whole opening sequence therefore this monologue has to be a huge success otherwise it will cause our whole opening sequence to fail.

Intro for our production company

Our production company is called Damian media co.  Therefore as a group we decided that we wanted to create a introduction for the production company.As Josh is well equipped and very efficient in this section we decided to appoint this task to him. He used cinema 4D and Adobe after effects to create this short piece to introduce our production company.This will be right at the beginning of our 2 minutes of footage and it lasts for 5 seconds.

Term summary

In this term i have conducted a lot of research on our genre gangster which we are planning to do for the opening sequence.We have managed to create a treatment that has been uploaded the blog and also did a rewrite of this treatment based on the results we got from a survey we carried out.This research we did has definatly influenced our idea in many ways including the characters we plan on including in the sequence. we have also done all of the following as a group:

Today I undertook the task of doing the treatment rewrite.In this treatment i decided upon changing a few ideas that we presented in our original treatment.With these made improvements i believe our production will be much better.

Treatment Rewrite

Title:Rags to riches

We are presenting a gangster film about  typical London man who starts off poor and ends up very well off because he teams up with the insiders of a well known London Gang; WestfieldGang.In doing so he eventually becomes the most feared man in the whole of the capital.

As the story unfolds we see how the main character betrays each of the supporting characters to gain respect and further power.We see this through the killings/Imprisonment and kidnaps of the supporting characters.

We have changed it from him gaining respect hourly and going up in the hierarchy to just betraying them all in one go as gaining respect hourly is pretty unrealistic.

We are trying to make it as batman meets the Godfather because we like the idea of when the Joker betrays his associates to gain all the money for himself.

Our production company plans to use the theme of trust,betrayal and money in order to achieve the desired effect of surprise targeted towards a demographic composed primarily of the male gender.
